footballer Lee Bowyer spent a weekend at Mid Kent Fisheries
in Chilham filming a programme on angling for Sky TV.
The
26 year old West Ham midfielder arrived at the lakes on Saturday(3)
at 6am. Due to an injury he was unable to play in his club’s
successful 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the English Barclaycard
Premiership.
Chris Logsdon, manager of Mid Kent Fisheries,
said: “Although Lee couldn’t play for his
club on Saturday due to an injury he listened to the game
on the radio and he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the fisheries.”
The star appearance at Chilham followed
a crucial game for the Hammers at the weekend, with the club
fighting relegation in the premiership.
Despite the club’s important win over
Chelsea, West Ham is not out of the danger zone and now has
to out-perform Bolton points-wise on the last day of the season
to retain its place in the premiership.
This means winning or drawing the final
game against Birmingham City on Sunday(11).
The programme produced by Sky follows
a different celebrity each week fishing at different venues
around the country.
