Neil, best advise really is to get down the lakes as often as possible and keep your eyes and ears open and chat with the fellas down there, we may seem un aproachable at first but were all nice fellas really, we all get on and some information is shared

can any1 tell me where the rules state 'no unboiled seeds' does this refere to all seeds that just need covering with boiling water and soaking or can we use these types of seeds if we boil them? Or does it just mean no seeds that have not been prepared properly?Or no seeds that dont involve boiling in there typicle preparation? thanks.

All seeds are fine to use as long as they are brought ready prepared from the shop or prepared properly by yourself.
If using hemp just soak for 24-48hrs, bring to a rolling boil for about 30-45 mins or untill split then hey presto.

Jesus Sean, you will want us to cast for you next!

There is a Tesco just off the main entrance for re-supplies and a cafe on the industrial estate at the other entrance. Just don't forget to reel in your rods before visiting either!!

I have uploaded some maps for you that may be of use.

Johnson's Railway Lake
Uniformly deep and finding the right spot is critical. Rock hard according to those that fish it regularly. Or maybe they are trying to keep numbers on the lake down.

Larkie 2
Meant to be the easiest of the 4 lakes and tends to produce excellent carp to Tench Fishermen, just ask FatGit! Not sure if he is fishing it this year but just ask Mumbles if he is about and he will fill you on some info. Just ask him to get his photos out he can't resist.

The Ocean
As it names says a huge expanse of water but the rewards are there for those that are prepared to put the effort in. Boats allowed for fish spotting and playing fish but not baiting. Isn't that right boys?

Road & Island
Another large lake with lots of features and home to the mythical 50+ Common! Boats allowed for fish spotting and playing fish but not baiting.

I hope this helps and see you on the bank!

There she blows!
