I see that the forum is going to be a members only MKF forum, so the likes of myself who as been a member in the past but not at the present and a member for the last 6 years of this forum with 900 + posts will not be allowed due to the bitchiness and back stabbing that as gone on with this forum.
As usual the minority muck it up for the majority.

If all else fails try something different.

I have never hid behind a name if you click on my user name my real name is there.

| I think it is a shame forum cannot just stay as it is, it seems to work pretty well and the input from non-members is just as valuable as input from members. |

The frustrating thing is that most of the problems are not caused by non-members and therefore removing their access will make absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Fully agree with you there. I'm not a current member much like Frazzle but feel I contribute constructively. Many of the lakes now controlled by MKF I fished regularly in the past.

I think making this forum just a mkf members would be a mistake.
I know there have been posts that have caused a stir on the forum.But that sort of thing goes on in most forums today.If a post causes problems,Ignore it don't add to it.So it becomes a bigger problem.
I know i am just a newbie on this site and not a member yet.But i like this forum because the knowledge that you share.
Without realising it you all play a roll that helps us newbies.And i for one appreciate this help.And no doubt others feel the same as i do.
People that make posts that upset others should be warned about their behavier with a possible ban from the forum.
If one of my kids cause a fight i punish them not all my other kids aswell.
This isn't a post to cause upset or a continual post arguement but,I am just a forum member trying to stay a forum member. |

The definition of forum is "A public meeting or assembly for open discussion" Still does not make it any clearer but some control is needed, but how do we administer this??, possibly with open and closed sections, one with MKF members only, then a section with anyone else that has an interest. Anyone who has an interest in any forum is usually passionate about the subject in it but also bear in mind that someone has to administer the site and this costs someone time and money.

I agree that the forum should be an open forum, I was a member of the forum, long before I joined MKF. But there has been many posts and comments that have been derogative and offensive to others.
Maybe there could be a forum membership for non-MKF members which could them be withdrawn should they post inappropriate comments.
Just an idea.
