We have received a letter of complaint from Network Rail over bags of human excrement that have been thrown onto the railway bank from these venues. The letter is threatening legal action which I can quite understand, I can think of nothing more unpleasant, the guys were strimming and hit bags, it's disgusting! We also have to pick this sort of thing up from the back of swims etc it is a disgusting job. This is just down to people being filthy lazy ******s!!! there is no excuse. We all have to go!! You can take a small spade and bury it, or take it home in a bucket, or double bag it and put it in a dog bin. Plus we also do have toilets which you can use and are very close to all these venues, it is just down to laziness. Network rail have now cleared the sites, therefore we are asking bailiffs to take names of persons fishing these venues and we will check the railway and surrounding area. If we will find the culprits I will name them publicly and make sure they find it very hard to find anywhere else to fish. I will also close the Railway banks of these venues and make them pre bookable, then those persons fishing these banks will be responsible for keeping the area clean.

Swims three, four & five on the Stour was full of Shight & rubbish over the railway fence at the begining of the week!!!

Some of it had clearly been there a while but some of it had been dumped there recently.

Im down there every week now so will be keeping an eye on it and if I catch anyone down there doing this ive got know problem with rininging the office straight away and reporting them.

Two men out carp fishing. One is about to cast his first rod out when he sees a funeral pass on the side of the lake. He stops mid cast, takes off his cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer. The friend says "Wow that is the most thoughtful, touching thing I have ever seen." "Well we were married 35 years" he replies!

I've said it before, it's so much trouble to carry a couple plastic bags in your tackle bag to take away rubbish. These low lifes will be the first to come on here and rant about the rats running around ect...

You have to sometimes wonder what sort of lives they live at home :-(

hi all....gotta agree jay some of these lowlifes must live like animals at home.

hi chris....dont mess about making threats about the railway banks on these lakes, make em pre bookable now and see if the litter and crap issue dies down at all,the only downside to this is the sensible angler is getting punished for something thats not his fault, having said that i think sensible anglers wont mind that much about booking swims, its a shame it has to come to this but something has to be done to stop these fecking lowlifes.

I agree with Phil ,make these railway bank swims bookable ,if it saves the fishing so be it.
I dont think it will solve the problem it will just move it to another location .

Absolutely disgusting. These, so called, anglers should be named and shamed and banned for life.

Maybe introducing a book, where all anglers need to record their visit, including dates, times and swims. Also gives an opportunity for anglers who do care to record the condition of the swim/surroundings when they arrive. Then these anglers, who leave litter and worse, could be held accountable for the condition they leave the swims and surroundings in.

Just an idea, not sure if its practicable.

Tight lines.

Every day I live with fear, but sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Absolutely disgusting, on many levels. Just a few "so called anglers" ruining it for the rest of us, who apply thought to a situation and use facilities where available.

Perhaps introducing a sign-in system would be a solution, as Acrotube suggested. As it will quite clearly show who is causing the problems at these venues.

Hopefully these idiots are found and dealt with accordingly. I appreciate people are looking for solutions to the problem but I disagree with the idea of pre booking swims. Booking a swim before even getting to the lake and seeing what's what certainly isn't my idea of fishing. How far in advance could a swim be booked? I'd be pi55ed not being able to get on the fish and dropping into lesser swim only for a pre booker not turn up. Or deciding to ring the office to hang on an extra night cos it looks good only to be told it's already taken for that coming night!

A txt on arrival would crack the problem of pre booking and needing someone to answer, Lake, peg, and membership number and time easy

No ones mentioned the swims on the stour are in sight of the loo.

Booking swims is not the answer, I don't Mind signing in to say I've been on a lake but I didn't fish chillham much for this reason as its more sutible for 24h + trips

I would like MKF to up the balifing on said lakes to try and catch and lets name and shame the scum bags.

Like most have said dont think sighning in will solve the problem.

Just keep your eye on the lake or lakes you fish.

The noddys that leave this shight normally stick out like a sore thumb so im sure they wont be hard to spot.

Im sure Ron, Stuart etc spend as much time down there balifing as they can. its also down to us members to self bailiff our lakes and not just turn a blind eye when we see things happening.

One possible solution might be that the bailiff carries a small notebook with him and writes down the names m/ship number and date of the anglers fishing in these swims and lets them know that the swims are being monitored for litter etc because of problems.
Perhaps if they know they are being held responsible for the state of the surrounding area they will be less likely to offend because we will know who they are.
Of course this only works if the bailiff checks the lake every day.

Too old to die young.

Evening all.

I would hate to pre book a swim and whilst asleep some dirty git take a crap and leave me to clean it up so that I don't get banned.

I fished gloomy swim on stour on tues and the rubbish behind the swim was just embarrassing. The next one up had sh.t roll in the brambles. I took a rubbish bag home and to be honest, as mad as I was for having to take it away the thought of the litter staying pissed me off more. But picking up human sh.t or nappies really is my limit.

Bunch of c....

Hi

Do you know who else fishes those swims, if you guys walk the lake from time to time, keep an "unofficial" log & just inform the bailiff or the office of who's there .

Some come here to sit & think,
Some come here to s#*t & stink,
I come here to scatch my balls &
read the writeing on the walls .

Ner nerrr nuh ner nerrrrrrr .

Ron unfortunately it is a bit of a british disease. When i was in NZ last year the place was on the whole spotless. I remember a while ago popping up the shops near me for a paper and at the set of lights was a youngster probably around ten years of age in a car with what looked like her grandad, she finished a bag of crisps and quite casually without a thought wound down the window and tossed the bag out followed a few seconds later by a plastic drink bottle!!! He never said a word to her....thats where it starts mate, i'm afraid its far too late. God only knows where they think all this rubbish will end up...perhaps it will miraculously disappear!!! Its a sad state of affairs
