A typical London park lake that had received no management over several years. The pond was heavily silted and had a high degree of weed and reed encroachment

Removal of Silt and Weed Encroachment

Care had to be taken not to break through the clay liner of the lake and to avoid damage to the board walk.The silt and weed encroachment was removed both manually and by machine, due to the sensitivity of the site and the presence of newts, frogs and fish life.

Pond Renovation Works Completed

Specification included the removal of all silt and reed encroachment and the creation of small individual islands for water fowl. The original aim of the pond was the creation of an ecology pond for local residents to enjoy and local schools to use for pond dipping.
