This purpose built 'canal' style venue can be booked by clubs for matches and can also be fished on a day ticket basis.

Huge numbers of fish abound in this match anglers paradise where pole fishing tactics are the order of the day. Match weights to 80lb are common place with the current 5 hour match record standing at 120lb.

Match Lake Rejuvenation & Improvements

Over the course of the next 4 months we aim to carry out a number of improvements to the match lake. I will be posting pictures of work as it is carried out.

An outline of our plans are as follows.

1, The lake will be split in to two sections. A 40 peg day ticket general fishing lake. And a 60 peg dedicated match lake. To split the lake we will be using two pegs on either side which will be shuttered and filled with hardcore enabling us access for general maintenance and to clear bankside vegetation on the far side of every swim.

2, Once the lake has been split we will in turn lower the water level and net the fish putting them either one side or the other depending on size.

3, The 40 peg day ticket general fishing lake will have plenty of double figure carp to catch as well as the usual bream and tench. The 60 peg dedicated match lake will have carp from 1lb to 5lb as well as a good head of silver fish for when the match fishing gets hard in the winter. We already have on order a large number of 1lb stock fish to supplement what is already there.

4, There will be no far bank or near bank trees to get caught up on as these will be removed
